    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The position suited me very well. I enjoyed the problem solving task and the mix between working in a laboratory and in an office

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The company encouraged good team work with each other. We had regular meetings to plan the week's task. Everyone was very helpful and I was well looked after.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I supervisor would always provide me with reading materials to broader my knowledge in the field. She would set up meetings to monitor my progress and check if there were anything else I would like out of my work placement. Anything new, she would make sure I watch and learn.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It was mixed. Because we planned everything, I knew what days were going to be busy and what days werent.

  • Because I was a quick learner, I was able to do lab work independently early on.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have gained a better understanding of the industry and gained value skills which has so far aided me really well in my final year of Uni. It has given me the advantage over others as I have hands on experience and would need very little training in the same job position of another company.

  • We have fun and joke about on occasion.

  • I had trains which were organised for me and I was given the dates to when to attend te trainings.

  • The training was very good. They made sure I understood the task clearly.

  • I would definitely would like to go back and work in the same team.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Every week We would often play Squash after work or to the social club after work.

  • Travelling easy as it was only a short travel away from London

  • The town where the company is based has one nightclub which no one goes to
