  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Highly enjoyable internship program, engaging in a wide range of activities and a having the freedom to find work that we find interesting and engage with any area of the business as we see fit, whilst also being supported and guided by managers.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone in the company from juniors to senior management made interns feel valued and were always willing to take time to give advice and guidance.

  • My manager has been highly supportive helping me to build my network as well as finding me lots of interesting work to engage with.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was always kept busy but I never felt overwhelmed with work. At times, things were a little quiet, but you could always find work by talking to meeting managers within your division.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • We were given plenty of responsibility and never felt as though I was being given menial tasks. Work given to me was always challenging and expected to be finished independently and to a high standard, whilst still giving help where necessary.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • We were always encouraged to develop a wide range of skills and set measurable goals to ensure we did this. It was an excellent opportunity to learn a lot about the company and the business and to get an understanding of what it would be like to work there or in a similar environment.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very friendly and relaxed whilst still maintaining a professional work environment which encourages you to work hard and do well.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The first week was spent doing training and learning about the business, and talks and workshops were held throughout the internship, as well as goal setting and projects.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company seems to place a high value on young talent and they always made us feel valued. Furthermore, mangers were always willing to invest their time in helping us to learn and develop, making me feel like the company invest a lot in their interns.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • All interns I met were very friendly but there were only a few opportunities for social events between interns in different businesses.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The area we worked in was great for eating and drinking, and it was always easy to find somewhere good to go for lunch.
