The Role
I really enjoyed my placement at PWC as you are still working with people the same age and are treated exactly the same as a graduate. Was really friendly and felt like I learnt a lot about audit and accounting on my time there and will prove helpful on my final year at university
I felt very valued as you work with people your ages and treated exactly the same as graduates so feel like you get a lot of responsibility throughout your time here. Got the chance to go to America as well which was such a good experience and felt very valued.
Managers and senior associates are always available to give you a hand with any questions you have, and people managers always help and give you guidance throughout your year.
Really busy during January-April, but in summer and just before christmas not so busy but you have exams in these periods so its not too bad.
Some responsibility but more towards the end as you have gained more experience by then so can be trusted more
Excel skills will be really helpful and having passed ACA exams will make you really employable by the time you finish University
The Company
Really sociable as everyone is around the same age so really get on with everyone and everyone's very chatty.
Really well organised as they do the same scheme every year so they know the process inside and out
Invest a lot of time in you as they put you through 7 ACA exams- which show they want you to be as good as the graduates.
Flexi Time
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
really appealing as if you get offered a graduate scheme you could become a qualified accountant in 2 years.
The Culture
Really social as everyone's the same age so a lot of common interests and theyre is socials every quarter and always drinks after work.
Cheap housing in Newcastle but travel around the city can sometimes be expensive.
Really good as Newcastle is known to be one of the best cities in regards to nightlife
Sports teams, social team, recruitment days, charity days, internal teams in regards to become experts in areas of work to coach people, buddying opportunities
