  • I was treated as a respected and valued member of the team throughout my time spent at PwC. Furthermore, I was really pleasantly surprised at just how friendly and inclusive senior members of staff were. Every person that I had the opportunity to meet was genuinely interested in why I was at the firm, what I hoped to learn and my future aspirations. • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight programme was very well structured and I was kept up to date with new meetings that had been scheduled for me via an online calendar and reminder service. I had no long gaps in my timetable and the insight programme flowed well. There was also a lot of variety in my timetable which meant that I wasn't bored during my time spent with the firm.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • I enjoyed the atmosphere at the firm. Everyone I spoke to was really friendly and I felt very welcome at the firm. It was your typical office-based environment, and people also had a lot of work to do, so it was pretty much what you'd expect in terms of general atmosphere. Overall, inclusive and a nice place to work.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt very well invested in and it was clear to see how much effort was put into this insight programme, with presentations given by senior members of staff. I also had the opportunity to shadow senior personnel, which was a fantastic development opportunity. I was given a personal laptop, electronic pass for all offices in London and overall cared for very well by the company.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • As I was fully immersed in the office environment, I got a really accurate understanding of what day-to-day life at PwC was like for a range of employees. I had my own laptop, desk etc and was treated like every other member of staff, so it was easy to picture myself there and what that would entail.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • This insight programme helped me gain a much better understanding of the company culture - I was not expecting such a relaxed company culture at PwC but the office has a very good working environment. There in an emphasis on self motivation and PwC trusting the employees to work independently. In return, employees are allowed to have flexible working hours to suit their lifestyle.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content was valuable in helping me to decide on a future career path. As your days are spent shadowing, you get a real feel for whether this career path is for you or not. The only limitation is that you are based in one single department so you don’t get a feel for other areas of the business, although there are some networking opportunities to meet other employees.
