  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement within the EHS departmnet and it far exceeded my expectations. my work was varied and interesting.

  • I felt very well valued by my colleagues from day 1.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager is brilliant, I have been put on EHS management courses as well as First aid and many more EHS/train industry courses. I was supported 100% and the guidance recieved was invaluable

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I helped 3 main Knorr-Bremse sites and had different responsibilities/tasks for each facility, so I was adequatly busy each day.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given more responsibility that I thought, I was given various projects and independently provided the EHS support, knowing that if i was unsure of anything I could always ask my manager for assistance and advice.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My skills increased greatly and I also gained new ones. I have developed personally and professionally in a multi national company. I am using a knorr-bremse product for my dissertation topic so the placement has helped greatly for my final year of university. Furthermore, I am now more knowledgable and have greater experience than any of my peers who did not do a placement.

  • Chatty but also corporate feeling office environment - just right

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised, had a time table of my first 3 weeks activities so I was busy straight away. from then on I have been given projects and responisbilities and have to organise my own time effectively.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They invested greatly in me, from First aid courses to managing safely courses as well as many more which are industry specific. I have also had a loty of time and effort invested in me by other member of staff - especially my manager who has imparted much invaluable knowledge.

  • TThe do have a great 2 year graduate scheme on offer for chosen placement students

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There is 22 placement students so the social aspect is great at work and outside of work however, the location (Melksham) isnt great for night life - need to venture in to Bath or Bristol.

  • £450 per month rental - ensuite

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • KB has a company christmas party, End of placement night out in bath, and also many voulenterring opportunitites.
