    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed my time at PwC. It was a really hands on, immersive experience and I was given a lot of responsibility. I feel like I got a really good impression of what day-to-day life at PwC was like and I got to make lots of new and interesting connections.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I was treated as a respected and valued member of the team and was assigned to do a task on my own on the last day. I felt like it was a responsible task and being given that amount of trust is a key indicator of how great the culture in the company is.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Although my business leader was extremely busy, due to the extremely demanding nature of her role, I always felt well supported and she guided me through my each piece of work. I was given an introduction before I began the week and I always knew what I had to be doing.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My degree isn't related to finance, so for me the skills I learned at PwC didn't really transfer back to University. However, I did learn a lot about how the business works and get to go out of the office to work with external clients which I found really interesting. I also learned general skills such as networking which I will be able to use at University despite it not being a degree specific skill.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I found this insight at PwC to be very well structured and I cannot fault the organisation of this programme. The communication before joining PwC was excellent and I had a large variety of tasks to do, which gave me insights into a multitude of different sectors within the company.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere in the office was great, it was a very relaxed working environment and there was a focus on self motivation and flexibility of working hours. I didn't feel pressured or stressed at any point during my week at PwC and the staff were all really welcoming and happy to show me around.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I picked up a lot of skills on the job and learned some more advanced data analysis skills. Whilst there was no structured personal training, this placement really was what you made of it. I put a lot of effort and work in and was enthusiastic to take on responsibility, so I got a lot out of it!

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I felt that my insight week gave me a good understanding of what it would be like to work for PwC. The company culture was explained, I got to see several different departments of the office and the different career paths were explained clearly to me whilst I was there. The recruitment process for Undergraduates was also explained clearly as to what my next steps would be within the firm.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Through all of the people that I met and the experiences I had, I felt that I was able to understand more about the company culture at PwC. I found everyone to be very hard-working and intelligent, but also found everyone very friendly and open with a diverse range of interests and backgrounds, and this is very reflective of the culture at the firm.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content is valuable in helping decide on a future career path. As your days are spent shadowing, you get a real feel for whether this career path is for you or not. The only limitation is that you are based in one single department so you don’t get a feel for other areas of the business, although there are some networking opportunities to meet other employees.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid generously for my time spent at PwC.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • The primary purpose of this insight is to network with and shadow your female business leader and therefore, the networking aspect of this programme was incredible. My business leader was able to provide me with very beneficial career advice. I also had the opportunity to meet with lots of other inspiring employees at PwC.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • I very much loved the networking and social opportunities and this really was the highlight of the insight!

    5/5
