    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt a huge amount about Corporate Tax and the wider tax environment in which PwC operates.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office had a very approachable and welcoming environment with many of the staff introducing themselves in my first week. Throughout the course of the internship I was often invited to after work socials and many colleagues were happy to assist if I had any queries regarding my work.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was organised well - In particular the introductory three day residential training in Windsor was a great introduction to the firm and to the other trainees throughout PwC's UK offices. However, our group training was sometimes not completely Tax focused, relating to Assurance matters.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm offered a course of 'my development' modules which were used to increase my understanding of the legal compliance framework that Tax operates within. Moreover, through the continual training I received on the job, PwC invested a significant amount of time in my personal training and development.

    5/5

  • Subsidised Canteen

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The internship leads onto a possible job offer within the line of service and office in which you are working. Moreover, if one has the desire to change office or line of service, if they are successful in gaining a graduate offer they may be fast-tracked to a later assessment stage for an alternative location or service line.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Having a small intake of interns within my local offices, we were able to become a close-knit group, often going out for group lunches and organising socials after work. In particular, the residential experience in Windsor allowed for the opportunity to meet many other interns from other PwC offices.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Working in Uxbridge had both the perks of being close to central London and having slightly lower costs. Whilst I stayed at my home in London, the food prices around the office were reasonable and there was a plethora of options available for social and lunch locations.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There was not much nightlife per-say in the greater Uxbridge area, however being on the Metropolitan tube line, the office is only a 40 minute train into Baker Street and the nightlife of central London. As such, there was a wide variety of nightlife in the greater surrounding area.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was a weekly football social within the office as well as a monthly internal drinks social for both the assurance and tax teams. As the office is situated within the greater London region, Uxbridge also benefits from being able to join the societies and activities that are available to PwC's employees within its central London office (ML and EP).
