    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at PwC, this experience has allowed me to gain a vast amount of experience in the technology industry and has guided me as to what kind of career I would enjoy in the future as well as the type of company I would enjoy working in.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel I provided my team with good technical skills which they were otherwise lacking. Although some of my tasks may have been tedious work for a member of my team to be doing, I found it more interesting as I was gaining insight into what they do and how the service they provide works.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I am a very independent worker, however over the course of this six week internship the people I was working with and reporting to were very good at taking the time to explain everything to me and to answer any questions I had about the tasks I had been assigned.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The team I was working with ensured I had plenty of tasks to be getting on with but made clear which should be prioritised. Many of the jobs I was assigned were 'business development' tasks, so not urgent but good to be getting on with when there was no client work I was able to assist with.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Over the course of this six week internship I carried out jobs that would be passed on to clients and I worked on these tasks very independently. I felt my team trusted my opinion and, although my work was checked by my superiors very thoroughly, and I asked for assistance regularly, I felt they were happy that my work was a good representation of the company and the work they do.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I definitely developed skills over the course of this six week internship that will benefit me greatly in the future. In particular I been introduced to two new coding languages: Visual Basic and SQL. The training I have received will also be carried forward in the future if I start a career of a similar nature as I have been taught invaluable information.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone in the office is extremely friendly and helpful. You can tell that the people here enjoy working here very much and that they all have formed genuine friendships over the course of their time here. They were very welcoming and took the time to get to know me, and the other interns that joined me for my internship here.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • As the vast majority of the time spent on the internship is spent within a particular team, how well organised the set up is, is largely based on how prepared the team are to take you on in terms of work they have available. My team were very good at giving me smaller 'business development' tasks however they wanted me to help with a particular client but struggled to get what was needed for me to start from that client. The induction process was well organised in terms of where we should be and the like but sometimes the plans for the days didn't work out.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • You can tell that the company are willing to invest a lot of time and money into us as interns in the hope that we have a good experience and want to return to work for them in the future. The induction week particularly was very nice, we stayed in a nice hotel and were given good food, as well as lots of current staff members coming out to talk to us and tutor us.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Following this six week internship I would very much enjoy the opportunity to come back to PwC as a full time employee, potentially on a graduate scheme following the completion of my degree. I feel that, not only have I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and like the atmosphere of the company, I feel like I have a base knowledge that I could use here.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, we all got along with each other fantastically and regularly socialised outside of the office.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is an expensive city to live and work in.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Although very expensive, London is an amazing city for nightlife.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The company do have many extra curricular activities, it was not very clear how we could get involved as interns as we are only here for a temporary time.
