  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • The event was enjoyable and it was nice to be surrounded by like minded people whilst getting to learn even more about BP.

    • All BP staff involved in the open day were very accommodating and happy to answer our questions.

    • All talks were aimed at people with limited current industry knowledge and the game we played was explained very well before we began to play it.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The talks given showed how my degree is translated into industry and is a brilliant motivational study to continue trying in my studies moving forward.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • The event was well structured and the breaks all took place at ideal times throughout the day. A section of the day where we were split into subject specific groups and told in more detail about all of the different job roles in BP applicable to us would also have been useful.

    • The atmosphere throughout the day was very friendly and welcoming.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • The Scholarship has been a brilliant investment to us personally as Scholars. On the day itself, various people gave up time to speak to us.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • Whilst the day was useful, I feel a session that was subject specific and went into more detail on this subject would have been even more so.

    • The day reflected the same atmosphere I have encountered every time I've been within BP, which is a friendly and welcoming environment.

    • The day gave a great taster of what working in the oil industry (and for BP specifically) would be like.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • BP even paid the cost of a hotel for me the night before, due to the length of my journey.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • At various points throughout the day this opportunity arose.

    • We were told a little about this but hearing more would have been interesting and useful.
