The Role
It was a veryenjoyable experience during which I have learnt a lot and established a great many relationships with a variety of people acrosst the bank
I was always given feedback when submitting work and my contributions were always noted and appreciated. My colleagues always made it clear to me how the work I was carrying out made a real difference to the projects at hand
There is a very extensive support network, both formal and informal. The buddy and line manager system serves its purpose very well, which complemented by incredibly helpful attitude exhibited by all employees across the different teams
I was busy everyday, working on a variety of projects. The amount and complexity of work given to me were at exactly the right level to ensure a steep learning curve and an intensive learning experience which was also enjoyable.
The amount of responsibility I was given at the bank exceed that of any other institution at which I worked. I was put in charge of building entire decks which would later be sent to the clients
I greatly developed my knowledge of the sector in which I worked and I developed invaluable financial modelling skills which will serve as a fantastic foundation on which to build in my future career
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere where people both worked hard and joked around. It was a perfect mixture of light hearted humor and intense work.
It was organised perfectly. Staying in the same team for the entire duration of the internship is definitely the right way to go. It allows one to properly understand the work being undertaken and develop proper relationships with one's colleagues
My colleagues invested a great amount of time and effort in my development as they strived to help me learn new things and get better everyday
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Very appealing indeed. The bank is experiencing a phaser of fantastic growth and focusing on the investment banking as the core of its operations, especially post-restructuing.
The Culture
The intern class functioned very well together and within it people always helped each other
Much cheaper than the West End and the City
Great, there were lots of bars in which one could socialise after work
There was a number of great charity events
