The Role
I worked on the New Climate Economy project and although the project content was interesting, there are many logistics problems with work arrangement.
I mainly did my own work without guidance or interaction with others.
My direct supervisor left me doing my own research work. I completed the task with high level of professionalism so she didn't need to provide much guidance.
Quite busy, I felt like although they only pay me for the amount of part time hours but most of the time I needed to work full time outside the paid hours to complete the tasks.
My task were to complete a 20 page presentation and several report, yet I am not sure if they will use all of the materials at all.
I thought the project were interesting and I gain much knowledge of the field I research for.
The Company
There was not even enough desk place for everyone.
Very disorganised, to be honest I was very disappointed at the logistical arrangement for interns.
I felt underpaid and wish they understand how much work they are given us. Also we were paid in US dollar while the placement is in London so there is exchange risk there and I am paid actually less than what they promise in the contract because of exchange rate fluctuation.
I dont think this is the place I would work for 9-5.
The Culture
There is social event every Thursday night but I needed to complete my uni course work so I usually dont participate.
London = expensive.
I am not a nightlife person so I can't comment on this.
There is barely anything to involve in.
