    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I worked on the New Climate Economy project and although the project content was interesting, there are many logistics problems with work arrangement.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I mainly did my own work without guidance or interaction with others.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My direct supervisor left me doing my own research work. I completed the task with high level of professionalism so she didn't need to provide much guidance.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Quite busy, I felt like although they only pay me for the amount of part time hours but most of the time I needed to work full time outside the paid hours to complete the tasks.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My task were to complete a 20 page presentation and several report, yet I am not sure if they will use all of the materials at all.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I thought the project were interesting and I gain much knowledge of the field I research for.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was not even enough desk place for everyone.

    2/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very disorganised, to be honest I was very disappointed at the logistical arrangement for interns.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt underpaid and wish they understand how much work they are given us. Also we were paid in US dollar while the placement is in London so there is exchange risk there and I am paid actually less than what they promise in the contract because of exchange rate fluctuation.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I dont think this is the place I would work for 9-5.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There is social event every Thursday night but I needed to complete my uni course work so I usually dont participate.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London = expensive.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I am not a nightlife person so I can't comment on this.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There is barely anything to involve in.
