    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight provided me with a great insight into the corporate life and a career in audit. This insight at KPMG fulfilled my hopes to gain a clearer vision of my future career path. Although the whole internship lasted for a short period, the presentation and activities were all really helpful

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • We were all not treated differently from and by other employees which made me feel valued during my entire time at KPMG. The advisors all were really helpful and seemed genuinely interested in us. We were encouraged to ask many questions and to engage with other employees to get a better feel of the company.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The guidance available was plenty. At the beginning you’ll get a timetable with all the activities and phone numbers of in case in need of support. But throughout the entire internship there is a supervisor present all the time who can solve any possible issues or questions. However, I personally never had to make use of support.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • In my point of view, the focus on personal development rather than ‘selling’ the company was one of the best aspect of KPMG Spring Programme. All the skills that I have acquired during my time there will be certainly very valuable when going through future assessment centres. We were accompanied by advisors all the time and could chat with graduates about their experience and ask for tips.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • This internship was very well structured and followed a strict programme which was handed out to us at the beginning of the insight. Everything was followed perfectly and could be seen as sort of a FAQ. This helped me personally to gain a great insight over my time there and what I can expect which in turned allowed me to prepare mentally and be on top of my game.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was throughout the event was professional but very fortunately very relaxed and open at the same time. The culture at KPMG is very pleasant and everyone seemed friendly and enjoyed working there. In addition, the other interns were very motivated and ambitious individuals who made the whole experience much better.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company KPMG has invested a lot to prepare and organise this internship. Everything was well prepared and structured. Employees, graduate and senior managers have taken their time to talk with all of us. All of the things were provided and their presentations were extensive and specifically tailored to our needs as first year students

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • This internship at KPMG has certainly reinforced my decision to work in audit. I am more excited than ever because the insight exceeded my hopes and expectations. KPMG is a great company to work for, the environment and culture is better than its reputation and the tasks and challenges that an accountant will face on a daily basis attracts me.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Although the insight lasted a few days, it was enough to learn more about the culture. It is a large organisation with hierarchy but I think that this is a good thing. Everyone has the chance to move the corporate ladder up. However, the culture was still friendly, open, yet professional. Everyone seemed nice to each other and not standing in competition.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would recommend this internship to my friends easily. It was very well structured and I didn’t pay anything because accommodation and travel expenses were reimbursed. The networking with all the people was invaluable, I have gained soft skills and a clearer vision of my career path that I want to pursue in the future.
