    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Working at Pladis during my placement year was one of the best, most educational, most enjoyable experiences I have ever had! Not knowing what I was throwing myself into when I first started, it soon became an incredible platform for me to grow myself, learn, and take immense responsibilities.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful when I first started my placement year. This being my first longer term role, they were very understanding and answered the millions of questions I threw at them everyday! My team and I soon became very close and throughout my time here I have enjoyed their company and smiley faces.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • From the moment I started, I had many meetings with my line manager who would take many hours of her day to patiently take me through the important processes I needed to know for the role. As time went by and I became in charge of larger responsibilities, my manager was always there to support me when I needed her guidance and learnings from her own experience.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On a daily basis, I had many different projects that I was working with. When I started, I had a lot to learn about the different processes and develop my skills in the role, but as I proved myself to my managers I started gaining more responsibility, which increased my work load more and more. By the time I left, I was leading many projects and was very busy!

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Throughout my time in Pladis during my placement, I was given an immense level of responsibility being in charge of three projects and teams where I had the chance to develop my leadership and communication skills further. However, I did not receive these responsibilities right the moment I started, but had to learn and work for it which has made it that much more important to me.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have developed many skills that will be incredibly beneficial in my degree during my final year and any of the roles I do going forward.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The usual atmosphere around the office is quite happy, pleasant, energetic, and upbeat. Everyone is very kind and you get to have really nice chats with people. Although it can be quiet at times, you can always speak to the people around you. Everyone around the office is very sociable and nice to hang out with!

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was organised well as the interns had intern specific modules and a set amount of training that we got to choose ourselves. These training modules were carefully selected for us and the skill set that we need to acquire. The interns also had a project that we were working for most of the year and that we got to present to some of the stakeholders.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As the interns, we had a set of training modules specially chosen for us, which we then chose for ourselves. These modules were assigned to develop our skill set, increase our learning, and designed to be useful throughout our careers. I also joined many training modules with the marketing team on specific marketing modules.
