    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the discovery day with this company. The team gave us an overview over all sectors that BP holds. It is not just about operation in an oil field. Behind the upstream activities there are massive operations that make BP a huge company with thousands of employees, I enjoyed to discovery broadly in how many sectors BP is divided.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Every team member respected us and treated us as a part of their company. From the moment you board the bus to get their offices you feel the nice environment, you are not discriminated in any sense. I felt like I was already an employee of BP. All the stuff is really kind and make you feel you want to start working in that company asap!

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received support since the beginning application process. The recruitment team always were in touch, the guidelines were clear and very useful in terms of procedures. I had not inconvenience at all to get the office or any another issue. Throughout the day we were accompanied and guided by one and more people.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • For me all the information I received was very useful, I knew broadly what the company did. However, after assisting to this day I clarified which is the area that suits more for me according to my background and my skills. In addition, we had some real test which are likely to repeat in the application process in case of succeed. Therefore, it made me realised my potential strengths but also some weaknesses that I need to work on.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The structure was pretty organised; the agenda was tight but fair enough to be performed in only one day. I would have liked having more time to share with others employees who are already working in the area I want to apply. We had only the lunch time to talk to few people. Maybe they can invite more employees to try to make it more personalised.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • I loved the general atmosphere, I really want to work in a company with such high standards. It makes you feel safe, valued and glad to be there all the time. The organisation of all departments and the structure of the entire company is a prove of the high quality.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In terms of personal training and development, BP seems to invest significantly on the student/ graduates. The salary seems to be higher than in others companies and they care about enhancing your skills and capabilities. In addition, they use a good time to train people before launch graduates to face this competitive market.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • 3/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • It was more listening than social event. There was not a really chance to make a networking, perhaps as part of their procedures they don’t allow you to send to direct employees your CV or make a deepen conversation with more employees. They tell you all applications have to be through their web which seems is fair enough.
