  • We were usually really busy in the HR Department.

  • I was given full responibility within my job role which was excellent for self development.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The training was excellent and I learnt so many valuable skills that I will definitely use in the future including IT,communication and presentation skills.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • At Janssen they take on about 30 students every year so the placement is integrated well- they dont just make you get the tea!They are real jobs with real responsibility.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They provided fanastic training at the beginning of the placement and if you wanted to train in something specific this would often be considered.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would be very interested in working back at Janssen-Cilag, they were a great company to work for and I feel I made some friends for life there.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Met some great people there- at one point there is 60 students there helping with the handover. High Wycombe is a bit rubbish though but there are some nice surounding areas.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Although High Wycombe is pretty cheap for how close it is to London it was still more expensive to live than uni, but i think this is the case with most placements.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • High Wycombe was pretty rubbish but there are some really nice places you can go further afield like Windsor, Reading, Marlow, Henley, Oxford and London.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Being a big town there was plenty to get involved with and there was also a sports and social club that offered a gym membership and social events to raise money for charity.
