The Role
It really helped me confirm my interest in the energy sector as a long-term career.
I was naturally limited in my ability to contribute to a large project, but all colleagues were very helpful and encouraging.
A colleague was always willing to help when I had difficulty with particular aspects of my work.
Some days were very long, trying to get work finished on time. However the relaxed atmosphere meant that was balanced with some late mornings!
Naturally limited, however my work will become part of official project documentation.
My internship covered a lot of areas that are not even considered in my career, despite being very relevant.
The Company
Many people were very busy, though spirits were always quite high.
The first few weeks saw a wait for essential IT software etc, however after the initial two weeks, everything ran rather smoothly.
I attended some lab visits to aid my learning, however no exotic trips to far away places occurred!
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I am waiting to hear the results of an assessment centre I attended, though things look hopeful!
The Culture
Living in different areas around London meant groups were quite fragmented, though most people got along very well with each other.
Chelsea...
Lots of events to go to, though very expensive.
BP appear to be very good at engaging employees in other activities.
