    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship was really enjoyable and the project I was given kept me interested and engaged throughout the entire three months.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were very welcoming and treated you like you were a member of the team straight away. They give you a lot of responsibility right from the outset and make you feel like your contribution is genuinely valued.

  • I was given support throughout in the form of regular team meetings and one to ones where we would discuss the progress of the project.

  • I was busy throughout the entire internship and never ran out of things to do.

  • I was given sole responsibility of my project, but could turn to my mentors for advice when needed.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel that the skills I developed during the internship will really help when applying for future graduate schemes and jobs.

  • The office was really friendly and welcoming.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well organised, and included two introductory days and a CV and interview technique training day in the middle of the internship.

  • The interns were all given a very helpful CV and interview technique training day in the middle of the internship.

  • The interns all have access to the internal job vacancies database and there is a graduate training scheme which we can apply for in the future too.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The interns regularly have lunch together and go out for after work drinks, and we also hosted a number of fundraising events like cake sales and karaoke nights for the charity.

  • The area was quite expensive.

  • There were plenty of bars and pubs in the area.

  • Yes, we were given regular email updates about volunteering opportunities we could get involved with.
