    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The topics i was working on, and the overall aim of the organisation, meant i was generally engaged and interested in what i was doing. They also did a good job of making sure there was a lot of variety in the work i was required to do.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • mentor system worked really well, and centrally organised training and induction days were interesting. I got given feedback on almost every bit of work i did, which was very helpful.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • probably my own fault for not always asking for enough work, but generally very good, and an excellent balance between long-term projects and quicker things.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Surprised at the level of responsibility and trust they have in you, made everything much more fulfilling.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I hope to work in this area, so it should be useful.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Always chatty and friendly, both within my team and the wider organisation. 'Hot desking' meant you got to sit next to, and get to know, lots of different people.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very good organisationally, lots of involvement with other interns and good support both from your mentor, and the volunteering department generally.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Constantly asked what i'd like to see more of, so i could attend any meetings i felt were interesting, and go on secondment to a different department for a while if i wanted to get a feel of a different sector of the organisation.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Working from home

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, both within the team and between the interns, though i didn't always have time to attend.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Didn't really go out around there as i live in London anyway, but Upper Street is very good
