The Role
Enjoyed that majority of the job. Felt alot was asked of me though.
Slighty resented being 'just a student' at times. As they know you are young and only there for a year I felt some are reluctant to form real relationships.
My line manager was very supportive.
Very busy.
Was left on my own in the office several times. Was given high responsibilities such as booking flights with company money and re-organising our filing system.
More than anything it is the structure and routine which will help me now. I'm used to working full days now and will hopefully be able to apply that to uni life.
The Company
Gererally happy. Morale quite low towards the end of my year.
They have about 35 students and have been doing placements for years so they are well experienced in setting up placements.
To an extent, however, as they know you will be leaving in a year I felt they didn't invest/train as much as they would have if I were permanent.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I haven't officially been offered a job but they have asked me to call them when I graduate.
The Culture
Very good. Large number of students meant a whole different student culture.
About average for south england.
Awful!
Nothing much offered from work. Difficult to get into anything else.
