The Role
Challenging in early stages but enjoyable once you're used to the role.
The people here are first class always willing to help and chat to you both about work and anything else.
Obviously a subjective thing but my manager was new to the role and didn't support me as much as i would have expected. The rest of the team more than made up for this.
Financial markets work in highs and lows so some days you can be rushed off your feet while others are calm- it all balances out though
treated like a full time employee after about 3-4 weeks!
The people networking and learning about the industry first hand is excellent. Although i couldnt see myself doing the role i had on a full time basis there is definitely something at the company for everybody - its a case of finding that.
The Company
Could have been more fun but certainly not dull- entirely depends on the team.
Plenty to do in the way of courses and social events. The team i was part of could have had a much more organised training progamme for when i arrived.
HR work very hard to set up anything they can arrange. Being a placement it is hard to fit everything in.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The Culture
45 interns plus 5 industrial placement students- always going bowling cinema etc.
Travelled in.
I don't go out much but Glasgow has lots to do.
Football teams and charity events plus anything else your team offer.
