  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I had to learn how to do basic coding, for which I have no experience with. Department provided me with 2 weeks of training. • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I don't know if I've got future employment with them as I haven't had my final sign-off, however they are definitely a company I can imagine myself working for. THe only issue at the moment for me is the location of the offices as it's a bit of a commute from Central London where I'd ideally want to be

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Definitely - constant pub evenings/pub quizzes/team days - my team has taken me out for drinks on a few occasions. We have a team day with the department in Cambridge where we are going punting and for dinner afterwards. Definitely makes you feel more comfortable within the office environment

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was living with family in Hammersmith. Therefore living costed nothing. However, the commute to Welwyn from London is at least 10 pounds a day so this cost me a lot. Also, as it's in London you can imagine normal prices for drinks/food.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I'd recommend going into London to go out rather than stay in Welwyn. The town is quite quiet. However, it has a nice pubs in terms of wanting to go somewhere easy after work. For bigger activities/team bonding days however we had to go elsewhere. e.g. Finsbury Park/Cambridge

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I would have loved there to be activities such as sports - e.g. a Netball team. There was still lots to do with interns, grads and the company in terms of going for drinks but sport would have been fun!

    4/5
