    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have really enjoyed my time at Millbrook Proving Ground, I have undertaken a variety of tasks that have given me access to so many different parts of the business so i feel I have learnt a lot in a short space of time. No day has been the same because of this and so it has been exciting and challenging at the same time

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • the people I have worked with have treated me like any normal employee and I haven't felt different juts because I am the placement student. I have been given real responsibilites by both my manager and other people who I have been working with which has enabled me to learn new skills and gain confidence of working in an office environment and with other people.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • To start with I was given sufficient training but they thought it would be better for me to learn on the job so I was thrown into the deep end, at the time this made me nervous but looking back it was the best way to do it! It meant I had no time to worry about things as stuff needed doing to meet deadlines. Obviously if I was really struggling then my manager and other where around to help but I was left alone to get on most of the time which was good

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were a few times when it quitened down but overall I have been very busy, this has meant the year has flown by as I havent really had any time to think! With being busy it has meant that I have learnt many new skills that I will be able to take back to university and apply in my final year.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I have been given real responsibilites during my year which has been good, there have been times where I have been under real pressure but this has excited and motivated me. Having the pressure has allowed me to learn to deal with it and how to prioritise work load without missing things off.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe the skills I have learnt on my placement year will help me massively both back at university and in future employment, to have a years experience of working will enable me to do things I wouldn't have been able to before.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office has been brilliant, even though everyone works hard there is always time for people to have a laugh, we all sit fairly close together and so not many days go past where isn't jokes flying about the office but this is never taken too far. Everyone has been really welcoming and not treated me any differentley just because I'm the placement student

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was very well organised, everything I needed was set up for me on arrival and we had a whole induction on the first morning telling us everything we needed to know, if I ever had a problem or question people where always available to answer and would do all they could to help

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would definitlety consider coming back to Millbrook, from working here I have seen that they run a fantastic graduate scheme as well as undergraduate placements so it is something I will look into in the near future and hopefully there will be a position for me when that time comes.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Millbrook is very close to my home town so I have just moved back home for the year so the costs have been very low, the area itself is probably about average in terms of prices, there are some places out and about that are very expensive but others which offer cheaper alternatives, overall I would say it is a very nice area to work and live in.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • In Millbrook itself it is non existent but there are places nearby such as Bedford and Milton Keynes which offer good nights out, London is only about 50 minutes away on the train also so is easily accessible and a better night out than the two previously mentioned so the nightlife in the area is fairly good

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was lots of things, I was involved with the 7 a-side work football team which plays in a league every Thursday night at the local school, this is subsidised by the sports and social club to so doesn't even cost that much, there has recently been a badminton and squash club set up but this was too close to my leaving date for it to be worth it to me.
