The Role
Had a great time. 3 rotations on 3 different desks of 3 weeks each made for a very diverse 10 weeks.
In general, I felt really valued by collegues, though there will of course be exceptions. In some teams I could join the jokes within my first day, in other teams the atmosphere was a bit more serious, and I had to look for a way to position myself
I could always ask someone for help on a project. If my normal supervisor was not available, I would just ask someone else.
There was a LOT of work, but as long as you're able to prioritize, there is no need to come in on weekends or stay ridiculously late.
Without our FSAs, there is a lot we can't do. However, with projects that we had our own responsibility over, there was plenty responsibility to take.
Yes. I've learned to prioritize like no other, I've learned to find the balance between eye for detail on one hand, but timeliness and speed on the other hand. And the feedback, both official and informal, has made me realize what my strengths and points of improvement are. And then there are of course the work-specific skills I will be able to use in my career later on, such as nice Excel tricks.
The Company
On the Trading floor, there was always something going on. And if there was not, then that was the perfect time for me to bombard everyone with questions.
Very well organized. Plenty of things were organized alongside the work, like additional projects and networking events. In addition, HR always made sure we were aware of the different activities that were happening that day.
They emphasized how much they had invested in us, and it showed.

Still don't know, we will find out!
The Culture
Yes, I was surprised how nice people are to each other; interns amongst each other but also collegues amongst each other. And the amount of lame questions to the interns was very limited too.
London is an expensive city, but when you find your way around, it's not really a problem.
Perfect. Plenty of bars around the corner for some post-work drinks, and clubs within reach thanks to the tube.
A number of compulsory additional intern projects, and we were welcome to join the firmwide presentations etc, if time permitted.
