The Role
Extreamly interesting, amazing to see the vast amounts of money that move around the system
From day one I was treated with as much respect as anyone else in the team and given as important a tasks as others
Great support, all questions answered fully. No issues with asking any questions regardless of their simplicity or complexity
Workload skewed towards the morning, to have everying in place before the NYSE opened. Afternoons more varied with ad hoc tasks.
Given full responbilty for a key clients daily processes, only given a quick sense check before it was sent to the client.
All skills developed in some way, practical accountancy in addition to others such as soft skills and excel skills also improved drastically.
The Company
Professional but approachable. The ideal balance.
Lots of seperate training days and office wide intern programmes that helped foster a good culture between the other office interns.
If I started the job full time tomorrow, I would feel the full 13 weeks ahead of others, invested in my devlopment as if I was a full time peremanet staff member
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
About to continue with the firm and department full time, with opportunities galore.
The Culture
Felt like a big family, I have surely made a few friends for life.
Glasgow is not an exspensive place to live. I could live well and still have excess funds from my wage.
Glasgow always a great night out.
Always nights out being arranged, being invited for quiet drink etc.
