    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. It gave me a fantastic opportunity to work within a cross-functional team to help develop my understanding of the food industry.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt like I was a real asset to the team. The projects I carried out benefited not just my team but my wider department and Waitrose as a whole.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I didn't feel like I was given much guidance from my line manager but found strength in my colleague who ended up acting as my mentor.

    2/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The first 6 months was fairly slow and I felt that I could have been given more responsibilities. The second half of the year really picked up. I was project managing several projects at a time and although it was challenging, I am so grateful for all the experience.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I had a fairly negative department who were very much set in their ways and we're open to new suggestions. However will some hard work and strong communications between colleagues it really turned around and I am now so sad to be leaving. I have worked with some fantastic, inspiring people.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I had to go and find work for myself. There wasn't much structure at all when I started. In a way this helped me to grow in confidence and seek new opportunities, however I would have liked more structure for my first few weeks.

    2/5
