    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great level or work to fun balance. Open office where everyone was friendly and if you had a problem you could speak to anyone.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The process and organisation of the scheme was seamless. I was the first Industrial Placement student in my department and therefore there was not a set structure for me. My line manager however was well prepared and had a plan of my first month. From there we discussed what I would like to achieve and pulled a plan together between us.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was allowed to attend courses, seek out different opportunities to experience and my line manager even put me in contact with other areas of the business for after my placement had finished. On top of this we had four training days an IP group.

  • I know that the skills and knowledge I have learnt this year have put me in great stead to be successful in securing a future job in the John Lewis Partnership.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We lived in a house of IP students and met as a whole group four times throughout the year.
