The Role
I really enjoyed my work placement, the best thing about it is opportunity to rotate into a number of different teams within HR. It allowed me to gain so many different experiences across the division.
I felt extremely valued by my colleagues, they spent generous amounts of time on my development and were very open and welcoming.
I had a number of different managers due to having rotations in this placement. I would say that all my managers were supportive and willing to provide guidance. Most importantly, they would give on-going feedback.
It ranged depending on what team I was in, but I would say there was rarely a time when I didn't have a full workload. At Morgan Stanley, you are expected to be challenged.
Much more than I thought I would be given. I worked on projects on my own that were presented to senior management and met with our business clients regularly.
I feel I have gained so much in my placement at Morgan Stanley, I have no doubt they will be extremely beneficial for my studies and in my career.
The Company
Upbeat. Everyone is very friendly and driven. The HR team is made up of intelligent people that work hard but are also very social - it's a great environment to be in.
I feel the internship was pretty organised, in my first week I knew the rotations that I would be doing. However some things changed a long the way which I feel could have been presented to me earlier in order for me to manage my time.
My placement started with a HR bootcamp which was extremely well organised and very beneficial. Throughout the rest of the programme there isn't a huge amount of formal training but the people within the division continuously gave their time to train me on the job.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
It is difficult to tell. At the end of my placement I will have an exit interview and see from there.
The Culture
I would say so, particularly at the start of the programme there are a lot of events going in, its a good opportunity to mix with other divisions.
It's what you expect for London, pretty expensive.
Canary Wharf has a good range of restaurants and bars, there's always something appealing going on.
Definitely. I did a lot of volunteering through the company, there are also sports committees and social committees that organise events outside of work.
