    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my work placement, the best thing about it is opportunity to rotate into a number of different teams within HR. It allowed me to gain so many different experiences across the division.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt extremely valued by my colleagues, they spent generous amounts of time on my development and were very open and welcoming.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a number of different managers due to having rotations in this placement. I would say that all my managers were supportive and willing to provide guidance. Most importantly, they would give on-going feedback.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It ranged depending on what team I was in, but I would say there was rarely a time when I didn't have a full workload. At Morgan Stanley, you are expected to be challenged.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Much more than I thought I would be given. I worked on projects on my own that were presented to senior management and met with our business clients regularly.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel I have gained so much in my placement at Morgan Stanley, I have no doubt they will be extremely beneficial for my studies and in my career.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Upbeat. Everyone is very friendly and driven. The HR team is made up of intelligent people that work hard but are also very social - it's a great environment to be in.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I feel the internship was pretty organised, in my first week I knew the rotations that I would be doing. However some things changed a long the way which I feel could have been presented to me earlier in order for me to manage my time.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • My placement started with a HR bootcamp which was extremely well organised and very beneficial. Throughout the rest of the programme there isn't a huge amount of formal training but the people within the division continuously gave their time to train me on the job.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It is difficult to tell. At the end of my placement I will have an exit interview and see from there.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I would say so, particularly at the start of the programme there are a lot of events going in, its a good opportunity to mix with other divisions.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It's what you expect for London, pretty expensive.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Canary Wharf has a good range of restaurants and bars, there's always something appealing going on.

    4/5
