The Role
The placement was great. Best working experience to date.
All tasks contributed to the teams. When I completed good piece of work, people were extremely greatful.
Support was given on all tasks that I was completing for the first time. Everybody would make time to show you the relevance of completing a task, and how it fitted into the bigger picture.
I had long term tasks that were not of imediate importance, that I could come back to when I was not busy with more immediate tasks.
I was allowed to complete viewings of smaller buildings independently once I had proven I knew the property. Work completed when into reports and out to clients. I was participated in meetings with clients that I had prepared work for.
Spending time writing reports, and completing research will definently aid my studies. Many of the reports I was helping to write were similar to projects at university. It helps to see how they look and were written by experts.
The Company
I worked between the West End and City offices which was a great experience. Both my teams were good fun. However the West End does a good buzz around it.
Seamless. From organising interviews for the placement outside of specified times, through to having breakfast with members of the Executive committee.
The best part of the placement was the time they invested in the interns. We had talks from: CEO, Global Head of Forecasting, Global Head of Research, Finance Director CEMEA, Head of Group Strategy, Global Head of Investment and Asset Management, Global Head of Sales, Global Head of Sales. As well as Directors taking you out on site visits and explaining every aspect of the job.

I would really like to work at DTZ. Interns will hopefully find out if they have a job in the coming months. Unfortunatly this means I will still have to apply to other firms, which is hugely time consuming when you would accept an offer if given.
The Culture
I was taken on team days out, invited to sport socials, company monthly drinks, lunchs, and after work drinks. Work life and social life go hand in hand if you want them to.
I lived with friends. But peak time tubes are expensive. But lots of half price drinks between 5 - 8pm in both the City and West End, which was a pleasent surprise.
London is where it's at !!!!
Yes. As previously stated.
