The Role
Very well structured with considerable flexibility and opportunity.
Naturally only valued for what we are - potential employees. Occasionally met with some indifference but generally people were helpful and enthusiastic.
All issues raised were addressed as quickly as possible, and felt that HR always tried to represent our interests.
Although some interns were given masses of work, by coincidence I was placed on desks that required me to find my own way of learning - which I did through research, meeting people and testing out programs.
Very little, aside from the aforementioned emails to the international employee network. This was to be expected as I interned in Sales and Trading.
Probably the most useful 10weeks of 'learning' I have ever done, and easily more informative than my time at university thus far.
The Company
Lively and interesting
As mentioned, structure was perfect
There was nearly always something that could be done. Social events were impressive and resources were almost as good as those used by current employees. At no point did it feel that costs were being cut on us.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
A clear understanding of the useful nature of allowing employees to move both 'sideways' and 'upwards'
The Culture
Always will be some people that you'd rather not spend time with, but generally very sociable and regularly met up outside working hours
It's London.
It's London.
One or two things, but not the focus of the internship
