    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed my placement very much. I liked the team work and the relationship I built within my team since the beginning. I liked the activities we were doing and the tasks I was given. I was given real responsibilities and this helped me develop my skills so altogether I can say I am really satisfied

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Relationships with colleagues were always great and interactions were always pleasant. I think staff works well with you even if you are just an intern and they give you credit. The relationship with my team mates was amazing, they were always helpful and willing to help me accomplish my tasks and giving me new ones

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was amazing, sometimes I wondered how he could follow me and my development so much with all the things he was accountable for. He gave me induction when I needed it, was always there if I had any issue, he always made sure I made the most of my internship and I am really grateful for that

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I have always been busy and I never got bored. Sometimes I worked some extra hours but that was my choice. At the end of the day I learnt how to better manage my time and prioritise and to organise my activities in order to cope with normal working hours. My manager always made sure I had enough to do but not too much

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I feel I was given a lot of responsibilities for an intern. I had tasks to accomplish and I could use my own initiative under my manager supervision but had a good space for action. Being accountable for bits of projects I could handle them and then report to the team, improving my presentation skills as well

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I had the opportunity to gain crucial technical skills and to develop some of the skills I already had (communications and project management, for example). I could work in a very good environment in terms of commitment and motivation which allowed me to enhance my relationship management skills as well

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • This was one of the strong points. Atmosphere was always good and friendly even when deadlines were getting closer and pressure was increasing. Relationships with colleagues were always great and interactions were always pleasant. I think staff works well with you even if you are just an intern and they give you credit

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was extremely well organised starting from our welcome pack to the induction day to the presence of the person responsible for us, who was always there. All our tasks were always clear and planned in advance so that we could cope with them timely and with no stress

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Travel loan

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • My experience was so positive that I would really love to work for this organisation. As I could see, staff are keen to give interns a chance as far as internal vacancies are concerned and I think this is a very good point. I was shortlisted for two interviews so far and I am still waiting for an answer for two more applications

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • We found a cheap pub for weekly drinks but we often spent time in our cafeteria even after closure, especially to play board games. The area offers a great choice of places, so we could find a pub to organise a fundraising pub quiz with discounts for staff; a few cheap places to eat in case we wanted to stay out longer. I'd say it's a good area to work, also well connected with the rest of the city and accessible also to people living outside.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We had many opportunities to get involved out of work in terms of sports events or classes or training sessions. There were chances to get involved in events and fundraising initiatives too. I also took part to drinks after main events which allowed me to get to know my colleagues better
