The Role
The job I was given was great; very challenging yet manageable.
My colleagues were great to work with. They were all professional, friendly and down to earth- very pleasant to work with.
I had weekly one- to- one progress meetings with my mentor and she was always available if I was struggling with any aspect of my project.
From the first day, I had a lot to do because I was given eight weeks to complete research, implement a process and create a repository for lessons learnt to be used across all business functions.
I was given an awful lot of responsibility on my placement. I was not required to shadow anybody or take part in mundane tasks. Instead, I was tasked with a project of my own and I was given the freedom to approach it in a way that was most suitable for me.
As a recent graduate, this experience has been amazing and I have definitely gained very valuable skills. The internship has given me a clear insight in to the career path I wish to take. I have learnt what it is like to work in a corporate environment and, for me, this experience has bridged the transition between university and working life.
The Company
The office is open plan and the atmosphere was very lively.
All of the resources and support that I needed for my project were readily available. At no point in the internship did I feel that anything was unorganised.
Although the internship was only for eight weeks, I went on a wonderful two day leadership development training event. This gave me a great insight in to how I work best and I learnt how I can improve to work with others.

Company Parties/Events
After eight weeks, the programme manager has requested to keep me for one year which is great *fingers are crossed*
The Culture
Yes, everybody is very social and approachable. The company (Pearson VUE) makes an effort to arrange social events for staff. On my first day we were all given free lunch and ice cream as a bonding exercise. We also have a 'party in the park' coming up which should be fun.
It's local so I got to stay at home :)
Manchester is a great city that always has a lot going on.
