The Role
Real responsibility, sociable working environment, lovely mentor and board members.
My ideas are valued and listened to. I do feel like Pearson has invested a lot into student opinions and reviews, therefore the role of PSAB members are highly regarded.
We have fortnight meetings to discuss about the projects, my mentor is always on call if I need although she is really busy being the Head of Research.
This is a part time role I work along side with my studies therefore I am ultra busy working on this placement on campus. There are 3 residential weekends in a year with other board members for which I need to prepare materials for, therefore I have tight deadlines to work on.
I am free to work at my own pace within my campus, yet still need to deliver results, therefore I think they have given me huge responsibility on this project.
I have learnt a lot about publishing industry and how ideas being implemented into real products within the organisation. I hope to take these skills and knowledge further with Pearson, to learn about its other core businesses beyond higher education publishing.
The Company
I am working on my own campus, but during the residential weekend everyone is really friendly - it was real fun.
Tight deadlines with structured mentorship program, there are fix outcome to be delivered so everyone is working toward a common goal.
Pearson executives, especially my mentor, invested a lot of time in me and my ideas, therefore I feel very valued by the company.
Working from home
Very friendly culture where innovative ideas are well respected - I will consider another placement with them.
The Culture
Other board members and I went to have fun in London Eyes after the learning program was over.
This program is national wide with the residential weekend in many different Pearson offices throughout UK - this question is probably N/A.
It's London where I am based - has everything to offer.
People organised drinking sessions in pubs and dinner - great time to catch up with other board members.
