The Role
Work was interesting but due to team constraints was hard to be busy all the time
The team did very well to integrate me into the team and I was made to feel useful
I had a lot of contact time with senior people and was able to receive regular feedback and instructions
Work was quite inconsistent. Some days had a reasonable amount of work, others a lot and some days not much
I was able to formulate my own ideas and to put my point of view forward on a consistent basis. I was able to work the projects in the way that I wanted to
I learnt a couple of computing languages which have greatly helped. Time management and presentations skills were also very important
The Company
Everyone was friendly and nice and willing to give you time to talk to you
The mixture of individual projects and team projects was really good. Having a few social events was also good. I managed to move straight into my team and did not have many problems
The people even of high seniority were willing to invest a lot of time in me by helping me with projects and also helping me decide what I wanted to do
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
The company is looking to expand in the division that I was in and if you are willing to work hard they made a point of showing you that they would invest in you and give you any opportunity
The Culture
There were a mixture of personalities, they were some that were very social which enabled you to do things in the evening but a lot of people didn't
Was quite expensive as in London but no more than the rest of London
In the Canary Wharf area there are some good bars and then the rest of London has a very good night life
There were some opportunities but you were expected to find them yourself rather than being encouraged to do them
