The Role
I enjoyed the challenge of the work and being within such a highly motivated and skilled team.
The project I was given was one that was actually required by the team and they supported me very well. I feel that they appreciated the hard work I put in.
My managers took a very active role in monitoring my work and giving their advice without being overbearing.
There were days when I didn't have a great deal to do but these were infrequent and I enjoyed the amount of work on the whole.
I was given my own project on the internship and took on most of the responsibility for it. Although this was daunting at first, it turned out to be a great experience and has given me a real sense of achievement about the outcome of the project.
I don't think I have ever learnt as much in 10 weeks as I have during this internship. Being thrown in at the deep end has definitely made me learn very quickly and the variety of training given has been very good.
The Company
The team I worked with were all very nice people and had a great sense of fun with the work they did.
Everything seemed to be very well planned and thought out.
I feel that the firm have invested a great deal in all the interns with all the various events and training that has taken place.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would definitely take a job with this firm if given the chance.
The Culture
At the beginning of the internship we were given lots of opportunities to meet the other interns and get to know each other. Since then there have been many evenings where we have organised social things.
Canary Wharf itself is fairly expensive but there are some cheaper places to be found further out.
Going into London is great but there isn't an awful lot in the immediate area of Canary Wharf
Even though we were not full time employees, we were kept informed of company events such as charity and social events to get involved in.
