The Role
The programme was well-organized. We had a lot of social events and one volunteering day. The opportunity was given to learn about different roles in the department. However, not all of the teams were prepared to have an intern (no set up projects, no permanent desks).
My always acknowledged and appreciated my value-added work. They gave me detailed feedback and constructive criticism.
My colleagues were friendly and willing to help despite the fact that they were very busy theirselves. Even senior managers in different geographical location always managed to find time and talk to me over the phone.
Sometimes I had a lot of work which required me to stay until late in the office. However, sometimes I did not any work assigned and my manager was too busy to give me any, so I had to find the task by myself.
I was trusted and given a lot of responsibility. Therefore, I could deliver real value to the team.
I have improved a lot of soft skills which to some extend will be useful in pursuing my academic degree. For example, I will be more confident in giving presentation and will organize my work in a more efficient manner.
The Company
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Some teams were sometimes behaving too loudly (loud talks and laughters) which made it hard to concentrate.
It was well organized by HR (good initial training, numerous social events), but the team was not prepared to welcome an intern. I did not have my own desk, my tasks were not clear from the beginning. Some tasks that I got were not challenging enough.
There is a massive number of online courses available to everyone. The scope of them were also impresive, ranging from presentation techniques to asset pricing strategies.

Staff Sales/Staff Shop
My team is happy with my work outcome, so the chances of getting a full-time offer are high.
The Culture
Numerous social events and initial trainning provided in the first week of internship gave me an opportunity to meet many interns, not only from my department.
London is a very expensive city with one of the highest cost of living in the world.
London offers a rich nightlife. There are many pubs, restaurants, cinemas and theatres. Therefore, it provides many ways to relax after work.
There are many networking groups in the Firm, which organize numerous socializing events. Many teams also often go to pubs after work.
