  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Plenty of interesting work, both hands on and office based.

  • Treated as an equal by all in the office.

  • Fantastic manager who was friendly and welcoming and allowed me to undertake the work I wished to.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • During day shifts I worked regular hours and I also worked some night shifts (by choice). I really enjoyed the varied work and was kept busy thought the days. Towards the end I had to spend more time on admin work however this was to be expected.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Much better industrial perspective to my degree.

  • Friendly staff, all welcoming.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • First day the staff were a bit unsure but otherwise well organised. A slightly lack of commutation with HR and my manager however led to some complications.

  • Offered a future summer placement after an interview and was encouraged to work towards CEng

  • Fast track system onto graduate scheme with a good pay and perks.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Made good friends with other interns and regularly met up with them.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London prices unfortunately. 50% of my salary went on rent.

  • London nightlife, plenty to offer. Prices were high however.

  • TfL did offer some sports clubs however I undertook my own sport.
