    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Whilst the problem solving elements to the tasks I was set were fun, the actual subject of the tasks given were not that colorful.

  • As i was working in a team of senior professionals I could not help but feel a little less valued than the seniors.

  • When I required help I would get it, whether it be from inside the team I was working in or outside.

  • Some days I would be very busy but most days I would find my self finishing early.

  • I designed, developed and presented my own solutions to stakeholders.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt and practiced many technical skills that I wont learn about in university. I also became more confident as a person, through presenting work and socializing with senior professionals.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was great. The people were friendly and social. We had frequent trips to the pub.

  • Although I did not get any I could have easily gotten

  • Although there is no official grad scheme, I feel that the team I was in would employ me after graduation.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • For the two weeks that my fellow interns were around, there was a lot of socializing.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Reading Is a lot cheaper than London.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I don't go clubbing but from my understanding it is very good in Reading.

  • Prudential did host events for employees, i just didn't go to them.
