The Role
I very much enjoye my placement at Savills. There was always a very friendly atmosphere arou8nd the office and plenty of people more than willing to help if ever I required it.
I felt i was valued by my colleagues however as I was assigned to such a specified part of the company a lot of the time I was unable to really take on a great amount of responsibility, so quite often found myself wih little to do.
The support provided by everyone in the office at Savills could not have been any better.
This was the only element of the placement that I found was worse than I had expected. As mentioned before, because i was in such a specified part of the business I often found myself with very little to do.
Also an effect of the team i was specified i felt there was only so much responsibility that my team could give me, and in truth it was fairly limited.
There are certainly skills that I have improved as a result of this process however a little more involvement and responsibility would have had a far greater effect.
The Company
Very friendly and helpful.
No events were arranged to meet my fellow interns until almost half way through the process, however in the latter 2 weeks there were very helpful events arranged by the company. Very much a tale of 2 halves.
I didn't receive any real training during my placement.
I believe that if you are a graduate with Savills it would be a fantastic company to work for. The work life balance is extremely healthy and they are very uinderstanding of each person on a personal basis.
The Culture
Was very lucky with my fellow interns and the rounders arranged by savills was a brilliant way to meet people. Should have been earlier in the process though.
Extremely expensive but to be expected in the West End of London.
Good but expensive.
I managed to join a football team with some colleagues. If you look and aren't afraid to be forward they are available.
