The Role
The work on the placement was varied, giving me a number of learning opportunities.
My colleagues were extremely helpful and kind and were wonderful to work with. They were supportive and we're always willing to help me should I have questions.
I never felt out of my depth and constantly felt supported by the people in my team.
Some days were quite repetitive however, as my supervisor explained to me, it was to hone my skills on particular systems.
I feel I was given adequate responsibility for my position as an intern.
I feel all the skills I gained here are transferable into a number of different settings.
The Company
My office was extremely fun to be in however, there were times the atmosphere did feel slightly stressed but this was only due to upcoming sign offs.
Some aspects such as our meetings with others throughout the business were slightly disorganised at the start but this issue was soon resolved. Overall it was well organised
I felt that the firm did invest in me and as a result I was able to develop a number of skills I may not have at a different firm.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The firm is up and coming once again and the atmosphere in the office is contagious, thus making it attractive to return to.
The Culture
All those on the placement got along great! We were able to set up a lunch time where we would all meet at an allocated time. This allowed us to keep up to date with everyone and plan intern events.
I was fortunate in that I was able to live at home and commute into work, thus keeping my costs down.
In Welwyn there are only a few pubs and so for the bigger socialising events we did have to venture out into London.
As interns we had a number of events planned outside of work.
