Marketing Assistant Placement

As passionate believers and advocates of early talent, we are excited to be looking for a driven and creative student to undertake our Marketing Assistant placement scheme. Over the last 10 years we have learnt what makes an exceptional placement year; real responsibility, mentorship, the ability to make an impact, training, working with people at all levels, and of course doing all of that alongside hard-working and inspiring people.

Our successful student will join our Marketing team of 8 people at our office in the heart of Brixton. The work will be varied, the environment is welcoming and inclusive and your input will be truly valued.

What will you be responsible for?

Social Media

• Lead on the implementation and input into the strategy of both RateMyPlacement and RateMyApprenticeship’s social media platforms. Aiming to increase engagement and traffic year on year
• Managing and delivering on RateMyPlacement’s key partnerships, including being responsible for all client social posts and reporting on their performance

Digital Marketing

• Writing email and website content for distribution to over 200,000 students and school leavers
• Moderating student-written reviews on RateMyPlacement and RateMyApprenticeship
• Working alongside the Digital Marketing Manager on activities such as link-building, creating landing pages, SEO and paid advertising

Offline Marketing

• Assisting with event preparation for the annual National Undergraduate Employability Awards
• Supporting the Marketing Coordinator with managing the Graduate Interns
• Representing RateMyPlacement and RateMyApprenticeship at a variety of Freshers and Careers fairs while managing a team of fair helpers

About you

A lot of the role will be on-the-job training and we are by no means looking for the finished article, however there are a few things that we need you to have:

Essential:

• Undergraduate student looking for a minimum 12 month sandwich placement from any degree discipline
• Keen interest in social media and digital marketing, looking for new and innovative ways to engage both students and customers
• Sociable, confident, and well organised and can manage their own time effectively
• Self starter who is able to work on their own and as member of a team
• Willingness to travel to various universities in the UK
• Willingness to help out in many different aspects of the business
• Interest in working for a small entrepreneurial company

Desirable:

• Active member of a university society or club
• Evidence of interest in marketing e.g. blog, websites, other elements of digital marketing
