The overall experience on the Capital One internship was truly incredible. I was offered many opportunities to learn from senior engineers, which helped me to grow professionally and personally. I have also met many wonderful peers from the internship scheme and expanded my own network. There was an outstanding amount of effort put into the 10-week internship from the programme team. All activities felt very organised and enjoyable. I was warmly welcomed and every single person I have met was always wonderful to work with.
Enjoyed it very much! Working virtually was definitely something that the company did a great job of managing and making it feel like working in office. Everyone that I worked with was super friendly and were always willing to help which was great for the first few weeks whilst you get on your feet. There are also great systems in place to ensure that you are well taken after, so you will always feel great whilst working there.
This was an amazing internship at an amazing company. Considering the internship took place online this year because of the pandemic, I had gone into the internship thinking that maybe it won't be as good as it ordinarily would be. This was completely wrong. The amount of effort put into making the 10 weeks great was incredible. The interns were certainly not an after thought, and not only did I have a great time but I learnt an awful lot.
I have never worked before. This was my first job opportunity and I was pretty blown away. In term of enjoyment, I loved the work I was doing. I was developing a service that lived in the Capital One internal ecosystem, which I thought was so cool. Everyone on my team were great people, each and every one of them taught me something. Don't think I was ever bored, as my knowledge was constantly challenged.
I found the work very engaging and interesting, I was doing real business work in an area of my own to become an expert on. There was a very good level of support given to me along with lots of feedback to be able to improve on. There was a lot of emphasis on socializing opportunity with other interns, and a really great effort by the intern program team to give me support so I was able to get the most out of the internship.
The internship was very enjoyable especially considering the whole programme was conducted via WFH (due to the pandemic). I learned lots quickly, both technical and general skills, thanks to well planned development sessions and a great support network. Despite dealing with many of the common challenges faced as part of working from home, I always felt like a real part of the team. It was abundantly clear that Capital One take their intern/grad development program seriously and genuinely want to help their new hires succeed.
I really enjoyed it. The team who was organising it made such a big effort to move everything online. Even though the whole thing was remote it was still amazing and I can't imagine it any other way! I've learnt so much, met so many great people and had a good time. In addition to learning and working we also had a lot of events to socialise with other people in the company and the interns. Overall it was a really good experience and a nice way to spend the summer.
The Intern Programme team put in a lot of effort into helping us get settled in virtually, which was very much appreciated during the coronavirus pandemic. It also ran for the full duration it would have run, had it not been virtual. I really enjoyed the culture as well; everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly. They made me feel a part of the team immediately and made sure to make an effort to connect me with people across various teams to ensure I could complete my project well.
A pandemic hit but Capital one did not waver! they stuck to the internship contract in every way and worked hard to ensure we get the proper support even as we worked from home. A perfect combination of social events, training and work. You are treated as part of the team and work on projects that are actually important, so that kept me motivated.
Really enjoyed my 10 weeks at Capital One. Despite being online only the internship programme team worked really hard to try and make the programme engaging and fun. They organised events like murder mysteries, escape rooms and WiFi wars as well as having weekly challenges as part of a work from home games competition. Everyone in my work teams were also really nice and good fun to work with and helped me settle in quickly.
Overall I really enjoyed the internship, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The experience I've gained during my internship has given me a fantastic insight into the world of work and really helped me decide upon my future career path. This is the first internship I've done so it's difficult to directly compare it to others, but it totally met my expectations and I felt like it was a very valuable experience I'd happily do again.
I enjoyed the 10 week Strategy Analyst placement that I had this summer greatly. I was nervous going in, worried I'd just be shadowing or completing menial, pointless tasks, as had been my previous working experience, but I was genuinely surprised that that was not the case at all. I was given a genuine business problem that meant I felt like I was adding genuine value to Capital One and that I wasn't a drain on everybody's time.
Capital One have been fantastic in so many ways. I’ve been blown away with the amount of fun I’ve had and skills that I’ve learnt from my time here. I almost wish I could not go back to uni and stay! I’m impressed with how organised the training and intern socialisation sessions have been considering the short time frame to move to remote working, and I can’t think of anything that they couldn’t have done better.
The work itself was really interesting and fun to get stuck into. The social aspect was so great despite the whole internship being virtual - we had various events as an intern cohort including a murder mystery, an escape room, intern lunches, and WiFi Wars, as well as fun challenges every week. What really made the internship so enjoyable was the people - the team put so much effort into making the 10 weeks a great experience, and everyone I had the privilege to meet was so friendly and encouraging.
I really enjoyed it - there was a good vibe throughout with plenty of opportunities for self advancement. There was no sense of competition between interns, and we all enjoyed the challenge. It was also long enough - 8 weeks - to make one's mind up about whether they saw themselves there full time.
Capital One was a really enjoyable place to work, and as interns we were treated really well. There was always plenty of interesting work to do, and opportunitites to learn. In addition, during the course of the internship there were loads of social events that made the summer even more enjoyable.
I thoroughly enjoyed working at Capital One. The amount the company invests in its interns alone is staggering. I felt less like a newbie intern, and more like a proper associate as my placement went on, as I undertook critical sections of projects with full autonomy, and was trusted to deliver them, with all the support needed along the way. I always looked forward to coming into work, and left feeling like I was where I should be.
