    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship was organised extremely well, and the work I was doing was interesting, relevant and fulfilling. I enjoyed every aspect of my internship: the environment, the people, the work itself, the opportunities I was given, and the feedback/development/help available to me. I have already recommended Accenture to my friends!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was able to learn about the company, the department I was working in, how the different areas of the business fit together, and worked on real(!) tasks to help address real problems, making me feel valued and appreciated. As I spent more time in the office, I was able to take on extra responsibility from different members of staff.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was more than I could have hoped for. I arrived to a detailed plan of the tasks I would be working on, which developed as the time went on. I had ample support from my manager, team and wider staff network. I was able to have weekly catch-ups to see how I was getting on, and had a mid-point, more 'official' review of my progress.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Until the last week I was lucky to have the perfect balance between enough-but-not-too-much work. I was also in control of my workload, in that I had deadlines to meet, but several tasks at once to be working on simultaneously. This meant I felt completely in control of what I was doing.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • All my tasks were to be used in future work/reviews - so while I was independently running/completing most of these, I still felt extremely valued and appreciated the high level of responsibility I was given. Some pieces of work were even sent to MDs, and one piece of work I was asked to present at a training event.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was able to work on my organisational/multi-tasking skills as well as the more practical skills I learnt, such as excel/powerpoint. My confidence and communication skills have been hugely impacted - I now feel comfortable presenting to rooms of people! While some of these may not influence my studies, they will be extremely useful when I rejoin the company.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • As there are a lot of work-from-home opportunities, the office was quiet on some days in the week (not helped by the summer season being primetime for holidays!), however everyone in the office was friendly, helpful and supportive. It was also incredibly easy to be able to contact anyone I needed by phone or email.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The only fault was that on the very first day, the induction was not as seamless for members of my internship scheme as it was for members of the main internship scheme in terms of content. This was partially due to the imbalance in numbers (4:80) and also due to the fact the scheme I was on was being run for the first time. Everything else was faultless.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given help whenever I needed it, weekly progress one-on-one meetings with my manager, and a fully comprehensive, mid-internship progress review. After completion of my internship, I was able to receive full feedback from a variety of staff members I had worked with, before finding out whether I would be offered the graduate position.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I can't wait to accept my offer and return to the company next year. The internship placement was more than I could have hoped for - I didn't think it would be possible to be this excited about work! I know that I will receive excellent training, endless opportunities, and be surrounded by the best people.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London = expensive. I lived at home, and socialising was at (paid-for) events.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 3/5
