Overview
The vacation scheme involved a training week followed by 2 weeks of project work. The projects were in 1 of 3 industries, with preferences submitted prior to the internship. Teams were made up of 5 interns. Extensive training was provided, a personal buddy was asigned and throughout the project each team had a mentor. Networking was strongly encouraged. Periodic spotlight sessions on industries took place throughout the program. At the end, project work was presented.
Skills
I have strengthened my communication skills, developed my knowledge about building effective presentations, improved research skills and gained new experience of generating new ideas within a team.
Business Insight
Despite there being a vast array of roles available within the business and an overwhelming number of industries and sectors available, the organisational structure, career path and growth opportunities were all well described and a clear picture was given.
Culture
Company culture was extremely friendly and easy to integrate oneself within.
