    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my three months at Enterprise and am really sad to be leaving. I have met some amazing business people, and built relationships in all areas of the business. I never imagined becoming so involved in a global business within the space of three months. My only regret is that I did not know about the placement in my first year at University, as would have loved to do it the year before. I cannot wait to get back to University and make students aware of what a rewarding and enjoyable internship Enterprise have to offer.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues at the Branch have made me feel like family. I feel very valued, and am trusted with any tasks given to excel to the best of my ability. I am regularly recognised for my hard work, and find this very refreshing and motivating, making me eager to challenge myself by taking on new tasks.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I have been supported throughout the whole of my placement, in terms of getting used to the systems right through to challenges faced with customers. I have been trusted to make the right decision and use my own initiative when appropriate. Being given the ability to think outside the box is particularly self-rewarding.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As a Branch we constantly kept busy. This can range from customers walking into us in the Branch, sending colleagues out to collect or ensuring our corporate deliveries take place on term. We always make the most of our time, and use our quieter periods in the Branch to get ahead on administrative tasks, training or organise corporate meetings to grow the business further.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Right from the start I was given responsibilities, which over time have become more onerous. In terms of the beginning, you are given simpler tasks in terms of booking in insurance customers or confirming bookings from the retail perspective. As your time as an intern progresses, you become more involved in ensuring rental costs are kept up to date, vehicles meet the cleanliness and safety criteria, and the importance of expenditure and ways to reduce this. All of these being fundamental aspects of running a successful business.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • During the three months, I have obtained invaluable skills which I will carry with me throughout my career. Enterprise gives you such a wide ranging exposure to Business life, from the significance of excellent customer service, managing figures and widening profit margins to drumming up new business and growing more and more. The training given to you in the internship alone, sets you up for life in the world of Business and enables you to have numerous real life examples of situations where you have excelled. The step by step training creates self empowerment, particularly with mentoring new trainees and realising how knowledgeable you are of the Brand.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the Branch is always well motivated. I would look forward to going in to work each day, and had such good fun regardless of how busy we were. Although the hours are long, time flies by as you are lucky enough to be a part of a team of great individuals who are hard working, great company and brilliant at their jobs.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was so well organized. Enterprise have really taken the time to concentrate on each of the key areas of their business and introduce learning methods to make you as successful in the position as possible, as well as setting you up for the life with transferable skills you can use in everyday life. Along with the in depth training and insights you are given into the global corporation, your personal skills such as confidence and clear communication methods become exemplary.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Enterprise really take pride in their training and development, and I truly believe they care about making you the best they can. The training programme is so cleverly run, whereby no question is ever left unanswered and you are given all the tools needed to run your own Branch to its fullest. Enterprise genuinely go above and beyond, and will always invest to develop you further as a person. I do not think there is any global business that go to the extent Enterprise with investing in you. Hard work is always rewarded at Enterprise, and it is not surprising they are such a global success.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing! Although I am doing Law at University, it saddens me to know my Internship has come to an end. I have enjoyed my internship so much I am even staying on part time at my local Branch. I have been told that although my career is heading in the direction of the legal profession, there will always be a home for me at Enterprise.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Throughout the three months, I have had one the best nights out with my colleagues. Because Enterprise employ such like minded individuals, it is impossible not to get on with others in the Branch and nearby Branches.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Norfolk is pretty mediocre in terms of living and socializing costs, where there is the choice to live on a budget or work hard and afford the more luxurious lifestyle!

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Norwich has an awesome nightlife. Although the city itself is not massive, there is a good range of Bars, restaurants and nightclubs!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Colleagues regularly went out for drinks and food after work, which is a lovely way to end a busy day by celebrating. This area I feel could be concentrated on further, in terms of Branch activities and making an effort to socialize outside of the Branch!
