The Role
I really enjoyed my internship and was really upset to leave, it is the first time I have actually really enjoyed a job and if i could have stayed on part time I would have
My colleagues were really helpful and the work I contributed I think they were grateful for. They always let me know what a great job I was doing
In the job I was in, career feedback and development was really important. I had meetings every month to discuss both my performance and the branch as a whole, and each morning we had a meeting to discuss progress and goals for the day.
I worked in one of the more busy branches and it was great, there was always stuff to do and I took charge of two different important tasks as well as contacting my accounts, visiting them and serving customers
I was put in charge of the system that communicates and books in insurance deals, which ideally had to be done every 2 days, and I took charge of our system that monitored customer comments and feedback. I was also given five company contacts to be in charge of.
I learned a lot at my internship. I developed my customer service skills even more and I learned that multitasking and taking initiative are really important skills. I struggled with them a bit at the beginning but now I really feel like I know how to do these things. I think these skills will really help me in the future, both in my studies and in my career.
The Company
Our office was a really fun place to be. We really had fun with the customers and with each other and we were always laughing. The managers encouraged this and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. And the customers of course!
It was really organised and we were given a folder with everything we had to do to progress to the next step or our career.
The company took this very seriously and I was given training constantly and they always helped me to progress in my career, everyone from the branch manager to the assistant managers to the management trainees.
Company Parties/Events
They are really appealing because if they like you and you do a good job they will employ you as soon as you graduate, which is really great
The Culture
Yes, we always planned nights out and social events so we could all get together and socialise, even the managers!
It was really cheap, and any planned events the managers usually paid for the cost.
There were a few nights planned, I attended one of them but my internship finished before I could attend a second. The night I went on was great!
There are many opportunities and the managers would email us to let us know what we could get involved in, including lgbt events.
