    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I found what I was doing worthwhile and therefore enjoyed that, but obviously some days were stressful as like other jobs.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone there was so lovely to me, I've definately made friends I will keep now that I've finished the placement.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was very involved with every stage of the projects I worked on.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It would normally be ok except when something went wrong with the IT systems, we would not be able to work for a period of time then it would start to work again which usually caused a great rush.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • It depended on the scale and importance of the project we were working on, but I did have lots of responsibilities throughout the year.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The excel skills I developed are phenomenal compare to previous experience. But I think the thing that will assist me in my final year is the work ethic.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • We would have a good laugh and it was very relaxed, but we had our serious moments.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • They have been doing this for years with it consistently under review.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I got to go on a couple of training course that were done in-house (using external trainers) but most of it was learnt on the job. They already have people that are excellent that can pass on the skills I needed. They were having a bit of budget tightening and training the 1 year placement student wasn't top priority. But each finacial year it changes and just as I was leaving they got approved for a bigger training budget.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 1/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • If I wanted to go back I would have an advantage during the applications process having worked there for 1 year.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • A lot of the other placment students were based in London, which was too far for regular socialising. I know that amoungst the London students there was though. There was a placmeent student in the Manchester which I will stay friends with.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Liverpool was relatively cheap to live in, I shared a house with some girls to lower the cost. But like any city it has its expensive and cheap nights out.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Our office is right on the water front, theres not a lot around it.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Couple of things, mainly sporting. But most other events were in London.

    2/5
