  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Loved my placement including people and actual job itself. No day was ever the same, extremely varied job/ daily duties, such a challenging and enjoyable experience.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Constant support system, from the people involved in the specific contract i worked on, to that of head office. If i had any problems they were dealt with promptly and effectively.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Peak periods were overwhelmingly busy but an enjoyable challenge in which i learnt many important things.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Given a great deal of responsibility from day one, increased throughout my placement to the point where i was running my own warehouse. But a great system of support surrounding me to enable me to do what i did.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills i have developed are not only life skills which have prepared me for my future career, but have put all of my academic studies into practice enabling my understanding and ultimate degree classification to be substantially higher than they would have been if i hadn't have taken a placement year with Gist.

  • Great people/ great environment to work in!

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was trained to do every job from that of driving a forklift truck, to managing a warehouse of operatives. They invested a lot of time, effort and money into my proficiency as a manager.
