    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really great insight into the company and the role - given a good level of responsibility right from the start and everyone I spoke to was approachable and happy to spare 5 minutes to chat - at all grades!

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Given a good amount of responsibility, and employees were happy to talk to me about their experiences without making me feel like they didnt have time to spare. Accenture has a very welcoming atmosphere and everyone is very friendly.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Good support system in place, i was given a Buddy who was a 1st year analyst who I could talk to about informal matters, and we also had a 'Champion' over the whole team for more formal matters.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It differed from week to week, but I rarely found myself with nothing to do and could usually ask for more work. The amount of work increased as the placement went on.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Again, it differed. One piece of work I did was sent directly to other employees whereas client work was checked and edited first, but I did quite a lot of first drafts of work. It would have been good to get some client interaction.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed skills in presentation and using programmes such as powerpoint and excel, as well as multitasking and time management skills - but I wouldn't say I learnt much academically.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a very friendly and tight knit atmosphere within my department where everyone used this in a positive way to motivate each other. This was complimented by an efficient way of working. It was enjoyable to work in the office.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well organise however there were some aspect of it that I would change. I already mentioned these to the HR department and to the manager in charge of overseeing my internship. These will hopefully be used to progress and develop the internship for the future.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As it was a short placement, there wasn't any lengthy training. I'd say the most crucial investment was that of the time given to me by the employees there to benefit my skills and knowledge.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very, I would really like to work for this company and I was offered lots of help and advice from employees regarding future interviews/opportunities.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We had weekly socials although some students were on placement in other locations so it was difficult to see everyone, but generally we kept close contact.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Central London - expensive to live! But plenty of bars and restaurants to socialise in

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I didnt experience it too much but when I did it was very good and busy, with mainly young professionals going for drinks after work

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, there were opportunities in terms of societies and clubs but I did not get involved with any due to the short nature of my internship. I had a look on their intranet and I would definitely like to be involved with them if I join them for a full time roll.
