    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed all the teaching related sessions in the first week and loved my placement in the school.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • To the extent that they really wanted us to apply for their graduate scheme.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • A lot - all the sessions were really useful, but as there were 100 of us there was not really any individual support during the first week. At the school in the second week, however, I received a great deal of support from the Teach First teachers at the school.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The sessions on personal development and how to act in a professional environment will help in my final year at university and in interviews, and all the teaching sessions will definitely help me when I start working in schools.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very well. Everything flowed well, but sometimes we could have had less time on certain sessions and more on others,

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Fantastic! Everyone was so enthusiastic, willing to learn and really passionate about the charity.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The first two and a half days were solely personal development and self reflection sessions, so quite a lot was put into this,

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The second week was in a placement, so for those 4 days we it was very similar to being an employee, but we were not given the same responsibilities.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Very much so - all of the sessions were done by people who had gone through the graduate scheme and were so passionate about it. I learnt a lot from that,

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I learnt so much about the company and teaching itself, that it made me decide I definitely wanted to teach.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid a little more than I spent on travel and other expenses.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes - we met a number of employees as well as each other - all potential employees.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Good, we had breaks in between sessions as well as organised drinks etc.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Not really - teaching takes over your life!

    2/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • It was a truly humbling and inspiring experience - I would recommend it to anyone.

    5/5
