    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was a really insightful, interesting and well put together 2 week programme. There was a good balance of theory as well as hands on practical teaching and experience.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone was so friendly, there was so much time devoted to networking and getting to know people that at the end everyone felt sad to leave.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The guidance and support was fantastic. Fiona and Sevim were always reachable even on our placements all over the country.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not only were the personal skills gained so important for life, they really prepared you for teaching in the future and set us up for their 2 year graduate programme which was fantastic.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Everything was really well timetabled and structured and more often than not we knew where to be and when, and what we were going to be doing. On a few occasions however the timetables did arrive at quite short notice, but that never really hindered us.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was amazing because the programme was so full of likeminded people who cared about the Teach First vision. Everyone got along so well and had a great time, including the staff.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was a whole week devoted to training and personal development so they clearly invested a lot of time, staff and effort into us for the programme.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • They not only made sure we had the best insight experience for the two weeks but also had many talks geared around what their graduate programme was, how to get on to it and what the company did as a whole.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Lots of the talks and experiences we were given were very reflective of the company culture and ethos, which really shines through in Teach First and its vision anyway.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The actual experience within the school was so valuable in helping me realise that I definitely want to teach and most definitely with Teach First.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We were all paid £500 for the 2 weeks and had our accommodation booked for us by the company. The only thing we had to pay for was travel and that was easily covered by the £500.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • As stated above, there were a number of times throughout the two weeks set for general networking as well as times after talks to speak to the speakers from the day, all of which was very useful and interesting.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • They were really well organised, helped make us feel part of the organisation and were incredibly useful for not only feeling settled for the experience but for creating useful contacts as well.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There were many talks about the wider ambassador network which were very insightful as Teach First isn't just about making teachers that stay teachers forever, there is the charity side and also partner charities and programmes to get involved with as well.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Absolutely. One of the most worth while things i've ever done. It really shows you what teaching is like and is a worth while cause to do some work/experience with.

    5/5
